Donna High Boys Cross-Country Heading to Regionals

(DONNA) – Even though the Donna Redskins Boys Cross-Country Team placed second at the District 32-5A Meet on October 21st, head coach Juan Davila felt they could have done better.

“I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get closer to placing first overall as a team in district,” said Davila. “But we’re ok. Hopefully we can bounce back at regionals next week.”

Donna High finished the boys’ varsity version of the meet with a total of 52 points and had three of their runners place in the top ten.

Alejandro Castillo was the top finisher for the Redskins as he took second with a time of 16:37.5.

Francisco Morales and Alexies Rodriguez were the other two runners who had solid finishes as they came in fifth and eighth place respectively.

Heading into regionals which begins on Saturday in Corpus Christi, Davila has one simple message to pass along to his team.

“I am going to tell them not to get lost in the big meet,” said Davila. “They just need to go out there and do their jobs.”
