Historical Season Huge as Donna High Boys Gain All-District Recognition

(DONNA) – Thanks to their historic 2016 season, the Donna Redskins Boys’ Cross-Country Team was heavily rewarded for their accomplishments.

The Redskins made school history by becoming the first Cross-Country team to advance to the state meet and also added to it by placing eighth as a team.

Thanks to their impressive season, the Donna High boys’ team received six selections on the All-District list for 32-5A.

Alejandro Castillo and Francisco Morales were the high honorees as they each gained a First Team selection.

Alexis Rodriguez joined Castillo and Morales on the list as he was a Second Team pick

The remaining three runners were Third Team award winners and consisted of Eric Garza, Jesus Herrera and Jose Rangel.

Besides the boys, five members of the Bravettes team made the All-District list as Karen Lopez led the squad thanks to a Third Team selection while Yvonne Lopez, Crystal Cardenas, Maritza Miranda and Celinda Yanez made it to the Honorable Mention team.
