(PHARR) – Coming into their last game before non-district play, Donna High was looking to see what their good aspects were and what the bad aspects of their game were.
The good thing that they got out of non-district play was their overall defensive play.
But the bad things were being inconsistent on offense and poor free-throw shooting.
And both of those bad things snuck their little heads back to the Bravettes on Friday night as they were held to 37 total points and missed 11 free-throws which caused them to fall to PSJA North.
“Our inconsistency on offense and missing free-throws has been our Achilles heel all year long,” said Donna High head girls coach Kevin Kromer. “There are some times that we execute real well and normally that happens when we hang on to the ball. But when we turn the ball over, our offense completely struggles.”
“Tonight, we missed a ton of free-throws and turned the ball over quite a few times as well. If we could have made our free-throws, it would have been a six-point game. But we didn’t get the job done and now have to get back to work to correct those issues. Lucky for us, we have two days to fix the problems and will get ready for the start of district play on Tuesday.”
The Bravettes now turn their sights to Tuesday night as they open district play against Mercedes.
