(EDCOUCH) – After Tuesday’s loss to Mercedes in their district opener, Donna High went right back to work and back to the drawing board.
“We went into practice on Wednesday and I told the kids that we needed to forget the Mercedes game and had to get back to work,” said Bravettes head coach Kevin Kromer. “The attitude was very positive and the girls had a great practice. I really liked what I saw.”
That practice definitely paid off as the Bravettes absolutely exploded on offense while scoring a season high 78 points while picking up a huge win over Edcouch-Elsa on Friday.
“I didn’t expect an outing like this,” said Kromer. “Our offense came to play tonight and I knew that eventually we were going to have a solid outing.”
“We played with some energy and intensity and the girls were confident with their shot selection. They played free and didn’t make any mistakes and I am very proud of their performance tonight.”
Miranda Sandoval was the leading point producer for the Bravettes as she scored a team high 18 points.
The Bravettes improve to 1-1 in 32-5A and will now head to Brownsville to take on Lopez with game time set for 7:30 p.m.
