(DONNA) – Through the first three quarters of play, the Donna Redskins boys’ basketball team found themselves tied with Porter.
In fact, Donna High stood toe-to-toe with Porter and was able to keep right up with them.
But then the fourth quarter came around and that’s when the wheels fell off for the Redskins as they were outscored 18-9 which caused Porter to steal a 51-42 win on Tuesday night.
Donna High head basketball coach Manuel Epperson said that poor shooting hurt his team in the final quarter.
“We took some ill advised shots in the fourth and deviated from our game plan,” said Epperson. “A lot of that has to do with our inexperience and our youth.”
“But I will say that these kids are working hard and the improvement is showing. Now we will get back to the drawing board and get ready for Donna North on Friday.”
Joel Ramirez led the Redskins in scoring as he finished with a team high 18 points.
