(DONNA) – Turnovers are the root of all evil and the Donna High Redskins boys basketball can truly attest to that.
Four straight turnovers by the Redskins made a three-point deficit into a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter which pretty much blew any chance of them winning the contest against Donna North on Friday night.
Donna High was able to mount a bit of a comeback as they cut the lead to two with 20 seconds left in the game.
But the deficit was just too much to overcome as the Redskins fell to the Chiefs 48-44 in a crucial district contest.
“That’s been the story of our season do far. Turnovers and simple mistakes,” said Donna High head basketball coach Manuel Epperson. “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; a lot of the reason for these mistakes is the fact that we are so young and have a lot of inexperienced kids on varsity.”
“I will say that the kids fought to the end and tried to mount a comeback and I am proud of that. We are going to continue to fight and work on getting better and better as the season progresses. Now we will get ready for Pace who is our next opponent and will go there and play our hearts out.”
