(BROWNSVILLE) – Free-Throws can literally make or break a team and such was the case for the Donna High Bravettes basketball team on Tuesday night.
The Bravettes missed 13 free-throws on the night and as a result, fell to Brownsville Pace 54-45.
“It’s hard to win a game when you miss that many free-throws and that’s what happened to us tonight,” said Donna High head coach Kevin Kromer. “Also, we had some mistakes which hurt us and tonight just wasn’t our night.”
With the loss, Donna High drops to 4-2 and will prepare for a rough stretch of games over the next two as they will face district leading Brownsville Veterans on Friday and second place Mercedes next Tuesday.
“I told the girls that as of right now, we are playing playoff-type basketball,” said Kromer. “We have to face two very tough teams over the next two games and need to rebound quickly.”
“Hopefully this loss to Pace will light a fire under them and they will come out and fix the things that hurt them.”
