(BROWNSVILLE) — The mighty Donna High Redskins boys’ soccer team had a great day at the Brownsville Soccer Tournament on Thursday.
You would think that the strong winds and the strong valley heat would slow the Redskins down. But in actuality, it pumped them up.
The first game of the day was between the Redskins and the Port Isabel Tarpons. The mighty Redskins went on to the field filled with enthusiasm and the desire to win.
That was enough to fuel their fire for a clean sweep as the Redskins defeated the Tarpons in an incredible 12-0 game. Goals in the game were scored Joel Hernandez, Angel Ramirez, Ricky Tapia, Roberto Juarez, Xavier Rangel, Miguel Gomez, Sammy Cruz, Alan Cepeda and Alan Robles.
The top scorer of the game was Ramirez as he finished with four goals.
After that clean sweep, the Redskins were looking forward to another big victory in their second game of the day with their next opponent being none other than Brownsville Rivera.
The Redskins knew that they were up against a tough opponent. But that didn’t stop them from competing against them.
At the end the game, the Redskins suffered a 1-0 loss.
The Redskins ended up going 1-1 on Thursday and are looking forward to day two of the tournament.
