(BROWNSVILLE) – On Friday night, the Donna Redskins wanted nothing more than redemption after suffering Tuesday night’s loss to Donna North.
The Redskins traveled to Brownsville to take on the Vikings and were more than ready for the challenge.
In fact, Donna High was not intimidated by the fact that they were playing in an unknown territory. In fact, they were more than ready to leave a lasting impression in Brownsville.
The Redskins played with pure heart and teamwork and those two things were what kept them alive throughout the entire contest.
Defensively, the Redskins were solid for the most part. But they did have a few slip-ups which led the Vikings to score two goals on them.
Although there were some mistakes, Donna High bounced right back on their feet and made up for it on the offensive side by scoring four goals. Xavier Rangel and Joel Hernandez both scored one goal for their team while Nestor Juarez scored the remaining two goals for the ‘Skins.
That spectacular offensive play was what gave the Redskins a much needed 4-2 victory over Pace which pushed their district record to 3-3.
On Tuesday night, the Redskins will close out the first round of district play as they welcome in Brownsville Veterans.
