(BROWNSVILLE) – After picking up a huge win against Donna North on Tuesday, the Donna High Bravettes were looking to ride that wave of momentum into Brownsville on Friday.
The Bravettes were set to face Pace in a game that played a big part in the District 32-5A standings.
After all, both Donna High and Pace came into this game with a 3-2 record and sat tied in a four way for second place with Edcouch-Elsa and Brownsville Veterans.
Pace was able to build up a 2-1 lead and held onto it for the majority of the contest.
But with eight minutes left in the second half, Lana Lopez nailed a PK shot for Donna High which tied the contest at two.
The game ended up staying tied and went into PK’s where both teams were in a see-saw battle.
Donna High and Pace went back-and-forth in PK’s as they were deadlocked at five.
But Pace was able to catch a big break as their goalie blocked an attempt by Donna High and then turned around to seal the winning kick to win 3-2.
The Bravettes, who drop to 3-3 in 32-5A, now set their sights on Brownsville Veterans as both teams will meet up on Tuesday to end the first half in district play.
