(PHARR) – Sometimes in sports, any coach will attest to this line; “it’s not how you start, but how you finish.”
In Donna High’s case, head baseball coach Joey Ramirez totally agrees with that line as his Redskins bounced back from a bad start in the Mike Rodriguez and ended up winning three straight to go 3-2 overall.
Donna High won their third and final game of the tournament on Saturday morning as they defeated McAllen Rowe in a 3-3 tiebreaker at PSJA High Baseball Field.
Forrest Jones was the key catalyst for the Redskins win on Saturday as he came in on relief and held the Warriors bats at bay.
“Our kids are moving in the right direction and that’s a very good thing,” said Ramirez. “Our defense was solid and we hit the ball really well.”
“With district play starting Tuesday, we are ready to go.”
