Patriots Ends Historical Ride for Redskins in Bi-District Round

(MISSION) – Donna head baseball coach Joey Ramirez looked at his team’s Class 5A Bi-District round playoff match-up against state ranked Mission Veterans and knew his team would definitely had their hands full.

However, he wanted the Redskins to do just one thing.

“Gain playoff experience,” said Ramirez.

Sure enough, his ‘Skins got some valuable experience as they took on one of the premiere teams in the Valley and ended up dropping both games in their best-of-three series.

In game one, Mission Vets was fueled by their bats and got a superb effort on the mount from Noel Vela which led to a 14-1 win on Friday night.

Going into Saturday’s contest, Donna did put up quite a fight as they were within striking distance for the first five innings of the contest.

But Vets got their bats going in the final two innings and moved onto the second thanks to an 11-1 win in game two.

All in all, the ‘Skins had a season for the ages as they got into the playoffs for the first time in 14 years and look to build on this historical experience.
