(MCALLEN) – Donna High Head Boys Cross-Country Coach Juan Davila was very clear in what he was looking for in Tuesday’s practice Tri-Meet against McAllen Rowe and La Joya.
“I want to see who the missing pieces are,” said Davila. “What I mean by that is I want to see who is going to be our seven runners on the varsity team and who will be the top runners as well.”
At the Tri-Meet, Davila got a little bit of a clearer picture as to who will lead the surge for the ‘Skins heading into the regular season which is less than two weeks away.
“I liked what I saw from a few of the guys today,” said Davila, when referring to his team’s performance in the two-man relay of the Tri-Meet. “I was impressed with Gerardo Ledesma and Ozzy Madrigal’s performance and they really ran well. Also I thought Eric Garza showed up today and performed well along with a couple of other runners.”
“Overall the team looked good and the missing pieces showed up. The team is starting to come together and I am getting a clearer picture of who will be the main guys this year.”
