(MCALLEN) – In just their second regular season game of the season, Donna High head girls’ basketball coach was pleased with what he saw from his team in Saturday’s 47-42 win over McAllen Rowe.
“We played much better all around today,” Kromer said. “On offense we were much more disciplined and we fed the ball to the post a lot better. There were times that one or two possessions took 30 to 40 seconds off the clock and our ball movement was good.”
“Also our defense was solid today and overall I liked what I saw.”
With the score tied at 20 going into the second half, Donna’s offense rose to the occasion as they connected on three big three-point shots and were able to build a comfortable 11-point lead which was enough to hold on and seal the deal.
“We hit some big shots in the second half and built a double-digit lead which was huge,” said Kromer. “Going into the fourth quarter, I told my starting five that they were going to have to take it home for us and fortunately they did just that.”
Miranda Sandoval led the Bravettes in scoring as she poured in 12 points while Brianna Quesada contributed with 10.
